Meet the Counselor
Darren Myers
Hello, my name is Darren Myers; I am the School Counselor at SCORE High School. I have worked as a Professional School Counselor for 19 years, 12 of those years I have worked at SCORE. Overall I have worked for Nixa Schools for 16 years, beginning my career as a special education teacher.
My counseling career has been focused on helping at-risk youth. In addition to working at SCORE, I have worked as a counselor in a college setting and at the only International Baccalaureate middle school in Missouri. In addition to being a school counselor. I have worked in the field of mental health for 21 years; currently, I am a Crisis Specialist and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) working for the National Suicide Prevention hotline.
My wife currently works for Nixa Public Schools and has done so for 12 years. My son was a graduate of Nixa High School. I am an avid sports fan (Go Chiefs!, Notre Dame...Go Irish!). I enjoy traveling, listening to music from the 80s, and finding the funny things in life to laugh about.
The greatest part of my job is seeing students graduate and become successful adults. It is my privilege to work at SCORE with your child.
